Making a tandem skydive is a highly appealing and fun way of generating much needed income for charities and non profit organisations. In return for raising a minimum amount of sponsorship the fund raiser is able to complete their jump at no cost to themselves. Without this arrangement many people would not be able to afford to complete a skydive.
Who are we?
Skydive Swansea was founded by Carl Williams, an experienced British Parachute Association instructor who to date has in excess of 8000 jumps and has been in the sport for over 18 years.
Skydive Swansea is an approved fund raiser for the following charities:
Velindre Cancer Centre Ysgol Maes y Coed Headway Swansea Touch Trust Cancer Care Cymru Tŷ Hafan Children’s Hospice King’s Church Gofal Cymru Mental Health Charity The Multiple Sclerosis Society Wales Wales Air Ambulance The Stroke Association Mencap Cymru The SAFE Foundation For The Love (Cyrenians Cymru) Western Beacons Mountain Rescue All Creatures Great And Small Animal Sanctuary Maerdy Kidz R Us The Bracken Trust Cystic Fibrosis Trust Help For Heroes The Guide Dogs For The Blind Association Royal National Lifeboat Institution
However, many people looking to make a parachute jump have particular charities of their own who they plan to raise funds for and so all legitimate worthy causes are supported. On the other hand, some are looking for guidance on suitable charities to support and Skydive Swansea will provide information to help make this choice.
Skydive Swansea is not an agency and therefore does not charge any fees for arranging charity jumps over and above the cost of making the parachute jump. In fact, subject to the fund raising jumper raising a certain minimum level of sponsorship revenue, the cost of the jump will be slightly discounted from the cost paid by a person who is not making a charity jump.
Our Commitment
Our aim is to make it easy for charities and fundraisers to come together for the benefit of each other and we are committed to making this a productive and happy relationship for all those involved.
Benefits To You And Your Organisation
You will receive a minimum of £100 per jumper. To qualify for a free parachute jump the fundraiser must raise £100 above the cost of the parachute jump which is the minimum paid to the charity. Sponsorship money collected above this level is paid in full to the charity.
Sponsorship is collected and delivered to you by Skydive Swansea. This is a service that we are happy to provide for all charities that we work with.
Charities that join Skydive Swansea as partners for fund raising will be featured on our web site and will be recommended to jumpers without a specific charity in mind. Our web site is stocked with helpful information and resources to make the entire process as clear as possible to all concerned. If there are any outstanding queries then our friendly staff are on hand to take enquiries from charities and fundraisers alike.
Fund raisers are free to jump on any date that the parachute centre is operating on a first-come-first-served basis although this is always subject to weather on the day for safety reasons.
If you would like your charity to become a Skydive Swansea Charity Partner or simply require further information then please e-mail us with your full contact details and we will send you an information pack.
